Overview:
Supporting Ontario’s Safe Employers (SOSE) is a voluntary initiative led by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development under the direction of the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO). The program is designed to encourage strong workplace health and safety practices, with the goal of reducing injuries, illnesses, and overall risk.
SOSE is structured around two main components:
- Accreditation of occupational health and safety management systems (OHSMS): ensuring that recognized systems meet established standards for effective safety management.
- Employer recognition: granted to organizations that successfully implement an accredited system and satisfy additional requirements defined by the CPO.
