Working at Heights Training Overview

As per the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations in Ontario, anyone working at heights of 3m/ 10 feet requires to be certified in working at heights by a CPO approved training provider.
Phoenix Health And Safety offers 1 days of in-person (Theory/Practical) working at heights course. Participants engage in group activities and assessments while learning from facilitator. The course materials will be distributed to participants the day of the session. Through group projects and discussions, participants gain knowledge from other participants.
For the purpose of ensuring that students can effectively check and operate the necessary fall protection equipment, this course includes a hands-on demonstration of the tools and processes.

FAQ's

Yes. Under Ontario Regulation 297/13, every construction worker who works at a height where there is a fall risk must complete a CPO-approved Working at Heights training program before working on a project. Phascorp is a CPO-approved Working at Heights provider. We offer the full WAH course, a WAH refresher, and a WAH Train-the-Trainer program for companies building internal training capacity.

Online and virtual: WHMIS, JHSC Part 1, JHSC Part 2, JHSC Refresher, Book 7, Fall Protection, Confined Space, AODA, Workplace Violence and Harassment, Lock-Out Tag-Out. 

In-class: JHSC (Parts 1, 2, Refresher), Working at Heights, First Aid (Emergency and Standard), Book 7, WHMIS Train-the-Trainer, Crane Safety, Fall Protection Equipment Inspector, Food Safety, Mask Fit Testing.

Forklift training is in-person only. The OHSA requires demonstrated hands-on competency on the actual machine.

Yes. Phascorp is a CPO-approved (Chief Prevention Officer, Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development) training provider in Ontario. CPO-approved courses include JHSC Part 1, JHSC Part 2, JHSC Refresher, Working at Heights, and Working at Heights Refresher. Our forklift training programs are developed in accordance with Ontario workplace safety requirements and industry standards for powered lift truck operator training.
