JHSC Part 2 Training Overview
The last stage of becoming an individual certified Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) member is to complete this Joint Health and Safety Training Certification Part 2: Distance Learning course. In a virtual classroom, JHSC PART 2 CERTIFICATION is a two-day course. Participants engage in group exercises and assessments while learning from the presenter.
- We cover worksite specific (or industry specific) hazards.
- For example, part 2 modules will be specific to the type of industry you are in: construction specific, industrial, manufacturing, education sector, office sector, farming and agriculture.

During JHSC certification training Part 2, will cover the following topics and activities
- Review the key concept from JHSC Part 1
- Take a look at the provincial hazard priorities.
- Apply RACE methodology concept to the workplace hazard i.e slip trip and fall hazard, musculoskeletal disorder, ladder safety. This concept will include the following
- Control of hazards and assessment of the control(s)
- Create and draft a recommendation for an employer based on the hazard assessment
- Information on the laws, regulations, and standards that apply to the risk
- Assessment and identifying of hazards
- Description of the danger and how it might result in disease or damage.
